Two Tone Pinks - Battered and Bruised

Two Tone Pinks were not a ska band and had nothing to do with the Two Tone label. They were a mod-ish power-pop band from Manchester who named themselves after a popular amphetamine capsule that was made of two differently tinted pink halves.

Andy Stratton was a 16 year-old from Somerset who hung out with The Mob. They all trekked over to Spaceward Studios in Cambridge to record their singles (Andy played everything but drums himself) and released them on the All the Madmen label. Andy never played out under his own name, but The Mob and Andy's next band Null & Void toured England in a converted bus til it broke down in 1981 in London, where Andy's stayed ever since.
